富山県南砺市に工房を構え、現在は息子の隆親（たかちか）氏とともに製作をしている。1961年に茶木弦楽器製作所に入社して以来60年以上もの間、ギターを中心とする楽器製作一筋で過ごし、業界内ではまさに生きるレジェンドとしてリスペクトされている。世界有数の楽器コレクターである津村氏（株式会社ツムラ 当時社長）の所有する稀有なヴィンテージ楽器の修理を多く担当し、マーチン、ギブソン、ダキストやアンジェリコなどの内部構造に精通したことも、さらなる経験と知識を研鑽するきっかけとなった。
Shiro Tsuji is a luthier who operates a workshop in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, and currently works alongside his son Takachika. He has been devoted to the production of musical instruments, primarily guitars, for over 60 years since joining Chaki String Instruments Factory in 1961, and is respected as a living legend in the industry. He had the opportunity to work as a repairman for one of the world’s leading musical instrument collectors, Mr. Tsumura (then president of TSUMURA & CO.). Through repairing many of the rare vintage instruments owned by Mr. Tsumura, he further honed his experience and knowledge in guitar making.
